You could look at it a different way it manages to match the OM-1, throughout the range insignificant differences at higher ISO settings. With the only significant difference being an advantage for the G9II at it's 100 base ISO compare to the OM-1 at its base ISO and extended 100 ISO. It is of course doing this with 25% more megapixels. As I am mainly a base ISO shooter the small boost in DR combined with increased MP count is a bonus . Not enough of one to jump ship from my OM-1 though had they both been out the G9II would have been my first choice as I do prefer Panasonic ergonomics menus etc

The methodology used is insensitive to the pixels density. It is why these measurements are just garbage.
