Best Photos of the Fortnight Redux

The classic Best-of-the-Fortnight challenges disappeared during the twilight zone while Amazon was reconsidering their decision to ditch DPR, so unless wam7 or someone else takes up the torch again to restore his challenge series, here's my attempt at a substitute.
Usually we have the Big Year challenge for birds, so the main Fortnight challenge will be for photos not prominently featuring birds only. During periods while the Big Year challenge series is unavailable, I'll alternate between a Fortnight challenge specifically for birds, and one for non-bird shots.
